Hope everyone is doing well!

Here are some images I've taken recently. I'll do 4 at a time to be dial-up friendly. Criticism is welcomed!

Also, I'm having my first public exhibiton this Friday (www.galacorina.org for more info). I've had to struggle to get things together but God made a way!

God Bless!

I'm going thru something and I need some advice or words of comfort...

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord as called me to the Arts. He's made that clear in more than one occasion (especially this past Sunday). What form/direction it takes...I really don't care. It's all for him anyways.

I can say with confidence that I'm a very good photographer. However, with everything else (drawing, design foundations, etc.) I'm starting from scratch. In class, I get really intimated b/c everyone else is so much better than I am, especially in my drawing class. I've seen everyone's work and I'm the worse. I know I'm learning but I get really embarrassed and I don't like to show my work or talk to anyone much. Mainly,b/c they talk about the assignments and I don't have much to say.

Another thing is that I love critiques. Not that I love bashing people's work, I just love the whole process of examining a work and breaking it down visually and mentally. In Design Foundations, I get tongue tied and I can't "see" what everyone else sees b/c the principals of examining is different. My teacher says I'm doing "very well" but sometimes I feel I'm not getting it. I told her that I'm notorious for making things harder than they seem; she agreed but said that it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I don't know...but sometimes I feel like walking out of class when I get stressed. I almost did it today but I held myself.

I just need some advice to help me cope with the stress I've been feeling...

And here's the soccer drawing, now coloured:

Here it isCollapse )

I finally let myself use the watercolours my Korean friend Hyoji got me last Christmas. They are sooo nice :)

I used the colours of the Brazilian uniform for the boy in the right...and now, for the life of me I can't remember what team wears a red jersey and blue shorts. For a while I thought it was England, but I think I'm wrong. Any FIFA World Cup fans out there?

I keep hearing here and there about God raising up artists for His glory from the young generation. What have you guys heard about this? What do you think? It's driving me nuts since I want more info on this and what I get is so random...

How many of you are students?

The Fall Semester starts tomorrow but I don't have class until Thurs. I'm taking Drawing One and Design Foundations. I really looking forward to taking these classes. I've been praying that God will open my mind creatively so I can use what I learn for him. I pray that you all have a great fall season; regardless if your in school.

God Bless!
